We’re doing our best to tread gently on the earth.
As a small business we're driven by our social and ecological responsibility. We want to reflect our integrity in the way we create and deliver our collections.
We aim to create quality products with an ethical awareness.
Our clothing and bedding are made to last.
We create pieces you love and can use again and again from sustainable fabrics and fibres.
Of course nothing is perfect but we are doing our best...
Read on to find out more about our journey so far.
We have three main factories that we use on a regular basis. We are also moving towards more Local Production as we explore limited edition ranges.
WHAT IS GOTS?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard.
It is an international standard for textiles made with organic fibres.
The supply chain for GOTS textiles must be compliant to a high-level of environmental and social criteria.
WHAT IS LIVAECO SUSTAINABLE VISCOSE?
We've discovered a brand new fabric called Livaeco.
It’s soft and like a viscose but made with sustainability in mind.
TELL US MORE ABOUT FAIR TRADE
Basically fair trade means that everyone involved in the supply chain is treated and paid fairly.
They have access to a living wage, healthcare, education and support.
WHAT’S ALL THIS ABOUT ORGANIC COTTON?
The biggest benefit is the environmental impact.
No pesticides, insecticides or herbicides and no genetic modification (GMO).
By using botanical and biological ways to control pests and weeds less harm is done to farmers and workers, to end consumers and to the entire eco-system.
WHAT FABRICS & FIBRES DO WE USE?
The majority of our garments and bedding are made using sustainable fabrics. Whether that be fair trade organic cotton or sustainable viscose we are trying to source as many quality fabrics that won’t cost the earth… literally.
We’ve created a detailed list of fabrics and fibres for you.
It’s one thing to use sustainable fabrics and suppliers but what about how we send and receive packages?
We’re doing what we can to use compostable bags and reduce plastic waste.
A SMALLER FOOTPRINT AT LAZYBONES HQ
We’re a bunch of eco conscious people at Lazybones HQ so we’re constantly striving for new ways to reduce our footprint and be kind to our planet.
We live and work in a special part of the world (in the hills outside of Byron Bay) so feel connected and concerned for our natural surroundings.
It feels right to give back.
We selected some charities and organisations that we feel strongly about and donate to them regularly.
