Description

From Gimiyala, this balm known for its skin rejuvenating properties is made with a plant native to and wild-harvested from Yolngu Country in the remote north of Australia in North East Arnhem Land.

Nämbarra is the local and traditional name (scientific name is Melaleuca Dealbata) given to this plant by the local custodians, the Yolngu people, who have used this plant for 60,000+ years for its gentle and rejuvenating potential.

A plant scientifically and traditionally known for its anti-microbial, anti-fungal and skin repairing properties, this gentle balm may assist with rashes, insect bites, skin irritations, dry skin, burns and scarring.

Nämbarra balm is ideal for those prone to eczema, psoriasis and/or acne.

To honour the potential of this plant, very few ingredients have been added to our balm to ensure the properties of this plant remain as pure as possible.

Our simple ingredients include Infused Organic Coconut Oil with wild-harvested Nämbarra (Meleleuca Dealbata) leaves, Australian raw beeswax and organic Clove essential oil.

This healing balm is free from petrochemicals, synthetic preservatives, colours, parabens, synthetic fragrances and is not tested on animals.

Supplied in a recyclable aluminium tin.

About Gimiyala:-

"Supporting Indigenous Wisdom Keepers, the botanical used in this balm is wild-harvested by hand on Yolngu Country using traditional methods and 50% of net profits support Yolngu Elder, advisor and wisdom keeper, Ms Djapirri Mununggirritj who is dedicated to ensuring the ancient traditions are kept alive with her younger generations. The Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) of the native botanical used in this balm remains with Djapirri, not Gimiyala.

Each year, Gimiyala also supports the wider local Yolngu community with educational sessions (taught by Djapirri) and balm donations to Elders, patients in hospital, local schools, community centres, age care centres and more. Keeping the knowledge and trust in native plants connected to the land within Indigenous communities is one of our core company values.

With the wisdom and knowledge of this plant being passed down through generations in traditional cultural customs, we are very honoured and fortunate to be able to share this balm and plant with you."
